equipping team

The Equipping Team is essentially our pastoral staff and takes its name from Ephesians 4:

“So Christ Himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip His people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”    ~ Ephesians 4v.11-13

The Equipping Team runs the day to day operations of the Bridge and is responsible for discipleship, leadership development and community connections.

facebook-icon-small Hi, my name is Roger Bird (everyone: “hi, Roger”) and I have the privilege of doing the majority of the teaching on Sunday mornings, though I’m not what you’d call your typical “pastor” kind of guy.   My goal in life is to help awaken people to Jesus’ Gospel, i.e. that God’s Kingdom is so close that we can reach out and touch it!  That means that love, compassion, grace and generosity should be what we should come to expect from our own lives and in the lives of those around us.  Not through surface-y religion but through deep, meaningful relationship with one another and with the God who created us and loves us so deeply that He decided that He would rather die than to live without us. If that kind of life appeals to you or if you just have questions, then let’s talk…

Hey!  I’m Lisa and I have been a part of The Bridge equipping team from the very beginning.  The last couple of years have been an amazing time of seeing God at work in Allegan as we are all learning to “cross together” in this thing called life!  At the Bridge you’ll hear us talk about “crossing together” a lot because we realize that none of us has it all together and we need each other’s help to make it through life in one piece.  To help us do that, we connect together to support and encourage one another as we learn who we are in Jesus and what His purpose is for our lives.  So what bridge do you want to cross this year?. . .a bridge to freedom? a bridge to forgiveness? a bridge to healing? peace? salvation?  Whatever it is, come join us and we will cross together with you!!

What’s God going to do next?
