serving
“The Bridge is a connector connecting us to God, each other and the community. Serving helps us accomplish all three of these.”
3rd sundays
The 3rd Sunday of every month is devoted to being in the community and serving others. Instead of our regular worship meeting, we have a service Sunday where we get out of our 4 walls and help the community. These days of serving Allegan are essential to our unique identity as a community of Jesus followers.
On 3rd Sundays we meet at 10:30am in the Allegan high school parking lot to pray and worship together before going out to work. Details about each of these days will be published several weeks before each one! EVERYONE is welcome to join us and it might be a good way to come check out the folks at the Bridge in a more relaxed setting.
If you, or someone you know, could use some help on a 3rd Sunday or have questions about how you could help, please contact Lisa DeKryger or Doug Rietema.
weenie wagon
Times are tough…especially in Allegan and we wanted to help! Especially over the summer when we have kids who get free or reduced rate lunch at school during the school year don’t have that opportunity during the summer and that there’s a good chance they aren’t eating lunch regularly.
Enter the Weenie Wagon!
Throughout the summer we will be serving free hot dog lunches to anyone (not just kids on the free lunch program) who show up.
Our last Weenie Wagon day for summer 2011 was Wednesday, August 30 with one or two appearances for 3rd Sundays in the Fall..
Thanks to everyone to helped and all who came and ate at the Weenie Wagon! Hope you had a great summer!
WE WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN WE ARE STARTING UP IN THE SUMMER OF 2012!
These are just some of the ways that we are trying to actively connect to our community and reveal the love and reign of God in Allegan . We don’t do this in order to get some opportunity to share the Gospel, we believe that the act of serving and loving our neighbors IS sharing the Gospel.
