The Bridge is lead by two groups: the Equipping Team and the Leadership Team.
The Equipping Team is essentially our pastoral staff and takes its name from Ephesians 4:
“So Christ Himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip His people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” ~ Ephesians 4v.11-13
The Equipping Team runs the day to day operations of the Bridge and is responsible for discipleship, leadership development and community connections.
Roger grew up in Cleveland, OH and his wife, Michele, grew up in Southhaven, MS. They moved to Allegan nearly 10 years ago when they came to help start the Bridge and now consider it their hometown. Roger is the senior leader and main teacher on Sunday mornings, and he provides primary vision and direction to the Bridge.
Both he and Michele lead 3dm coaching huddles and are part of the 3dm leadership for west Michigan Frontier Leaders team and help train church and lay leaders in the U.S. and Canada to make disciples who make disciples.
Lisa grew up in Allegan and her husband, Curt, grew up in the Kalamazoo area. Lisa and Curt formerly helped plant a church in Kalamazoo called, Within Reach. After 7 years there, they felt a desire to help start a church in their own city.
Long story short, Lisa is a co-planter of the Bridge and is the Pastor of Community providing pastoral care and leadership for our Missional Communities. Lisa is also part of the 3dm Frontier Leaders team that helps train church and lay leaders to make disciples who make disciples.
Greg is the Community Chaplain and he and his wife, Dawn, both grew up in the Allegan area. They currently live in Hopkins where they have been for over 30 years. Both Greg and Dawn have pastor’s hearts and head up the Bridge’s Coats for Kids program within the Allegan and Hopkins schools.
Everyone around them feels loved and cared for, so it’s no surprise that along with doing some teaching, Greg’s primary passion is pastoral care.
The Leadership Team is essentially our board of elders and is made of approximately 7 people, including the lead pastor. They meet regularly and are tasked with guiding the Bridge, praying for our congregation and our community, and ensuring our people are being led well and that truth is being taught.
